STUDI PENGEMBANGAN EKOWISATA MANGROVE DI PANTAI CEMARE, DESA LEMBAR SELATAN, LOMBOK BARAT

Mangrove ecosystems play an important role in maintaining
coastal ecological balance and have significant potential for conservation-
based ecotourism development. This study aimed to analyze the condition of
the mangrove ecosystem, evaluate the suitability of the area for mangrove
ecotourism development, and assess community perceptions regarding
ecotourism development at Cemare Beach, South Lembar Village, West
Lombok Regency, Indonesia. The research was conducted from August to
October 2025 using a quantitative descriptive approach. Data were collected
through field observations, vegetation analysis using the line transect plot
method, water quality measurements, identification of associated biota, and
community questionnaires. Data analysis included mangrove density,
Tourism Suitability Index (TSI), and descriptive analysis of community
perceptions. The results showed that the mangrove ecosystem at Cemare
Beach had a vegetation density ranging from 2,000 to 3,000 individuals ha

and was dominated by the genus Rhizophora. Water quality remained within
the recommended standards and was supported by diverse associated biota.
The Tourism Suitability Index indicated that the area was classified as
suitable to highly suitable for mangrove ecotourism development. Community
perceptions toward ecotourism development were also highly positive,
indicating strong public support. Therefore, Cemare Beach has high potential
to be developed as a conservation-based mangrove ecotourism destination
through sustainable management and active community participation
