THE IMPACT OF TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING AT SMAN 1 GUNUNGSARI

This study investigates the impact of technology integration in English language
teaching at SMAN 1 Gunungsari. The study focuses on the impact of technology
integration, the challenges faced by teachers, and the strategies used to overcome
those challenges. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method involving
three English teachers (F1, F2, and F3). The data were collected through interviews
and observation questionnaires and analyzed based on the research objectives. The
findings revealed that technology integration positively affects English language
teaching and learning by increasing students' motivation, engagement, participation,
and supporting English skills. The use of digital tools, multimedia, and Interactive
Flat Panels also creates a more interactive and student-centered learning environment.
However, teachers still face several challenges, including rapid technological
development, limited digital literacy, classroom management issues, unstable internet
connection, and technical difficulties. To overcome these challenges, teachers apply
strategies such as participating in training, continuous learning, collaboration, lesson
preparation, and combining technology with traditional teaching methods. In
conclusion, technology integration plays an important role in improving English
language teaching at SMAN 1 Gunungsari, although its effectiveness depends on
teachers' competence, students' readiness, and adequate facilities.
